Are You Tired of Paying To Much for Gas?
The cost of fuel is out of control for the average canadian. Together we need to make a statement to our Federal Government that we want gas prices reduced. We're not asking for cheap gas but affordable gas.
The Government has the ability to reduce the cost of gas, not to what it was 5 or 10 years ago, but impact the price enough that we could feel some relief. It’s up to the Canadian Public to ensure that 'our' Government knows we’re not happy with the way things are. If you’re like most Canadians, we thought that paying 85 cents/liter was to much, but the spike in fuel costs has affected most Canadians.
Commuting to work, taking kids to soccer games, vacations, etc… are all costing us so much more, in fact in the last two months in most locations, the price of gasoline has risen as much as 35%. That’s an increase that most Canadians can’t afford to abosorb without it affecting the way we live and operate.
If we, the Canadian Public, do nothing to voice our concern. Then why would our Federal Government feel the need to change the current status of gas prices. We need as many people to voice their concern on this issue so that our Prime Minister and those in power, will look to address this issue. This web sit was created to be a medium for us as Canadians to bring our concern forward to our Prime Minister.
So why do we believe that government can help us out?
Two Reasons:
Firstly, the Federal Government taxes our gasoline with Fuel Tax and also with GST (your provincial government also has a Fuel Tax as well). So the Federal Government taxes us with 10cents/liter, along with charging us 7% GST on gas. The Federal Government needs to look at reducing or eliminating some of the tax burden that is upon us.
Secondly, the Canadian Government has a responsibility to ensure that the Canadian Public is not being gouged by the rich Oil & Gas Companies. We need to be assured that World Events are truly having an impact on the increase in oil and gas prices. If not, our Government needs to hold these companies accountable for their actions.
The Purpose Of This Site, is to make our Federal Government aware that we want the price of gas looked at seriously. Through this site we are hoping to make it easy for all Canadians to voice their concern, by providing you with a simple method to send a message to our Prime Minister, Mr. Harper. We don’t want to create a mob mentality, that’s not our purpose, but we do want our Prime Minister to know that we want to be taken seriously. Please take the time to send a message to our Prime Minister.
So what do you have to do to help make a statement to our Federal Government:
1. Use our automated form letter (found on the menu link: Mail Your Gov't) to send an email to our Prime Minister. It’s easy, all you have to do is fill the form with your name and address, your information will be formatted into the email and sent to Prime Minister Harper's office.
2. We need you to help spread the word, either by referring friends or family to this site.
We all share a duty to inform our government of our concerns…remember this is our Country. We don’t want to bash anyone or create a mob mentality; we want concerned Canadians to voice themselves. We hope that this website can be centralizing point to bring our concerns to our government officials.
